Rome Adventure Day 4

Well, the weather hasn't changed one bit. In fact the humidity seems worse than any day before.  We enjoy a leisurely morning in the apartment before heading out to the Termini--train and bus station to catch the Archeobus to take us out to the Appian Way.  This was disappointing in that the bus went so fast you could not focus on a thing.  Also, there was a high wall that we couldn't see over, so we did not see much of the countryside.  On the way out to the Appian Way, Bob captured one last look at the Coliseum, a new look at the Baths of Caracalla, and also the backside of Palatine Hill where we were yesterday at the Forum.

The road with the original cobblestones is over 2,000 years old.  Most days there is horrible traffic and it is dangerous to walk or to ride a bicycle.

We were back in the city in little more than an hour, ate lunch at a sidewalk cafe, and headed back to the apartment.   We had loads of laundry, so Lydia and I tackled the washer-dryer duo--all in Italian.
